Bus-based control system: Intelligently detecting and connecting peripherals

This system provides outstanding user-friendliness for manufacturers of patient and nursing beds thanks to its simple commissioning process. The Dewert Care® Connect (DCC) bus-based control system, using the Dewert MCL V as control unit, is based on bus communications and automatically detects any connected peripherals. This direct communication enables the bus-based control system to reliably detect any handsets, sensors, batteries and other components. No advance programming is necessary, so the Dewert Care® Connect system requires far less time and money during installation compared to conventional systems. With this bus-based control system, it is also possible to customize all handsets and controls without changing the hardware, since the software is used to assign functions to keys. No physical changes to the handset are required.

The software solution for quick project planning

Using Dewert Care® Connect, products can be individually designed and optimized quickly, easily and at any time. This is made possible by Dewert's special software for the MCL V control system. The Dewert Care® Connect control system ensures that your time and costs are used efficiently during the project planning phase, thus significantly streamlining the design, approval and commissioning processes

Bus-based control and patient monitoring combined in one system

The Dewert MCL V, the heart of the Dewert Care® Connect system, processes all important patient data. Thanks to its connected sensors, the controller is able to detect, for example, an out-of-bed alarm event. The patient status can be sent directly to the nurses’ clinic station. By taking advantage of this control system, nursing staff have central access to the status of multiple beds, and can react quickly to changes and critical conditions. Patients thus receive care that is safer and more appropriate to their needs.

The MCL V controller also enables all system-relevant drive and control data to be exported. So you can see at any time how many cycles have been run, in which direction the connected drives are moving, and at which points possible overloads have occurred.

Many application possibilities

Dewert Care® Connect can be used in many different types of applications. These include, for example, comfort beds with extended adjustment functionality. Lifting functions or foot-end extensions, for example, can easily be implemented using the control system. Up to six Dewert drives can be attached, so the Dewert Care® Connect bus-based control system is the ideal solution for heavy-load applications, such as double beds having individual motion profiles. High-end applications which focus on intelligent communications along with status and error monitoring functions can also be implemented.
